Ira Heller

In the summer of 1990 Ira Heller was racing his J Boat in Newport when a fleet of Corsairs went flying by. He said to his girlfriend, Syd, "We gotta get one of those." He bought his first Corsair from Bob Gleason in 1991. Since the early nineties, Ira has been very active in NEMA, and currently serves as the Commodore. Ira has been very competitive in multihull racing, with the WindRider Rave, with his own Corsair F-27 Mothra, and as crew aboard other Corsairs. As crew, he holds over four Corsair National Championships and three NEMA Trophys.

Ira lives in Boston with his wife Syd and mutts JoJo and the white furry thing.
