WETA
Small boat. Big sailing possibilities.
Meet the Wētā 4.4: a compact trimaran for solo sailing, family outings and one-design racing.
The Wētā 4.4
At 14′5″ long, the Wētā brings three-hull sailing to a boat you can enjoy on your own or share. The Multihull Source highlights its flexible one-, two- or three-sail setup and lightweight composite construction.
Choose a relaxed day on the water or explore its performance with the full sail plan. Talk with Bob and Ira about the configuration that suits your sailing.

The builder’s story
Wētā began in New Zealand with Roger Kitchen and his son Chris. Drawing on Roger’s experience teaching children to sail, they set out to create a boat that combined straightforward handling with lively performance. Tim Clissold of TC Design contributed the original design.
What began as a garage project grew into an international sailing community. The Wētā earned Sailing World’s Boat of the Year recognition in 2010.

Easy to take sailing
Foam-sandwich fibreglass hulls pair with carbon beams and a two-piece carbon mast. The builder describes a roughly 20-minute solo rig-and-launch process. Packed on its beach trolley, the boat occupies a footprint comparable to a Laser.
The standard package includes three sails, a beach trolley and protective bags. Wētā Marine also lists a self-tacking jib as standard on new boats; confirm the equipment supplied with your order.
